Scala

24 April 2016

Queen Mathilde was in Aarschot to attend a concert by girls choir Scala who celebrate their twenty years of existence.

According to its founders, Stijn and Steven Kolacny, Queen Mathilde is a fan. The choir performed at Crown Princess Elisabeth's baptism in 2001.

They were also asked to perform at last year's autumn concert at the Royal Palace. Queen Mathilde told them she was sorry not to be able to attend their concert on 2 April because she was going on a skiing trip with the rest of the family. Stijn Kolacny informed her more concerts were to follow. A few months later they received an email from court, telling them the Queen wanted to be at their show.
